Haya Fatima Iqbal is a certified trainer and public speaker. She started conducting training workshops among Pakistani adolescents and youth on civic rights and responsibilities, HIV/AIDS, and leadership in 2006.
Her most recent training project is called Stories of Lyari, of which she was the Project Lead. Through this project, Haya imparted documentary filmmaking skills to nine aspiring filmmakers hailing from the notoriously restive neighborhood of Lyari in Karachi.
After less than a year of training, the nine filmmakers successfully produced eight documentary films that depicted an alternate perspective of Lyari; one that the Pakistani mainstream media often tend to ignore.
Stories of Lyari alumni have since participated and won a number of awards in various film festivals.
